Two timber merchants are the latest companies to take up Progressive Solutions' bisTrack software.
Alsford Timber and Huntingdon Timber and Roofing both chose the system in June and are currently implementing it at their branches.
Alsford have 20 branches spread across the south east of England. They chose bisTrack from a shortlist of three. According to managing director Neil Fuller (left, above), Alsford wanted a Windows-based solution that complemented their expertise in the timber field.
Huntingdon are a one-branch company that have been trading for four years. Until now, their sales and stock control systems were completely manually.
"We were drowning in paper and as a business turning over £2.2m. The time had come to invest in business management software," says managing director David Biddle (right, above). Biddle says that he intends to use the software to its full capacity: "I see bisTrack as a margin enhancement tool and I'm determined to get the most out of it."
Again, Huntingdon were won over by the fact that the software is Windows-based, which Biddle believes will speed up the training process. The 'timber friendly' features were also a plus point.
The company are now looking to expand to a second branch and believe bisTrack will aid that process: "bisTrack will make our expansion programme so much easier because I'll be able to use the system to control both branches from my office here in Huntingdon." says Biddle.
