Date: 27 Nov 2008VAT curve ball from the Chancellor!CUSTOMER newsThe Progressive team have been quick to respond to the latest challenge thrown at us by The Chancellor's news on UK VAT rates (15% from December 1st). bisTrack customers have been contacted with full details of the changes. A document is also available on our ftp site, describing the software and business procedure changes. With just a week to research the changes needed, from the announcement on Monday 24th to the Dec 1st changeover, the changes required a lot of research, testing and consultation. Hopefully we've got things right! The Support team are also to be congratulated for the smooth application of software changes on customer sites, whilst still fielding calls from understandably-concerned customers. Software patches were required for the interim period to allow continuous trading without interruption, or requiring a software upgrade. These have now been rolled in to the next builds of the software. Future software upgrades must be to the latest Service Packs to preserve the software changes. The relevant versions are 2.3 (SP35) or newer, and 2.4 (SP5) or newer. If you currently use older software prior to 2.3, you might want to check the new features available when you upgrade. Each version has it's own detailed 'What's New?' document, describing the changes. Get in touch if you'd like a copy.
