Author: Steve Riley Date: 23 Jun 2010 VAT emergency budget changesOne of the key changes from this week's emergency budget was the change in the VAT rate to 20% from 4th January 2011. The wisdom of this move, and the effects on the construction industry and its suppliers will be debated elsewhere, but this is just a short note to let you know how Progressive Solutions' bisTrack will handle the change. The VAT rate change is a well-understood process and one we're used to activating with the minimum of fuss. You'll remember the recent temporary lowering of the rate from 17.5% to 15% and the subsequent reversion to the original rate. We understand both the technical changes required and the business processes around those changes. Essentially the message is: no change required just yet. We'll let you know when you need to start activating the new rates and how you should do that. More information:
