bisTrack software supports the Financial Director

In the current business climate, software company, Progressive Solutions, is appealing to Financial Directors of builders' merchants and timber merchants to take full advantage of features built into their business management software to identify credit hazards, to streamline credit control and spot reliable financial trends.

To provide as much support as possible with these tasks for their builders’ merchant, wholesaler and timber customers, the company has appointed a Financial Management Consultant to provide a link between the sales and implementation departments at Progressive and the financial staff and board members of new and existing customers.

Ian Knox has 15 years’ experience in business and finance and a typical scenario he expects to discuss with users and prospects on a day-to-day basis is credit control of the sales ledger. He explains, “Today, businesses need to react almost instantaneously to credit hazards as soon as they potentially arise. Consequently, we need to ensure that users of our bisTrack system are getting the full benefit of its features and that credit controllers’ ‘Dashboards’ are set up to capture sensitive information as and when scenarios arise, ensuring a timely decision is made and any possible financial damage is thwarted.”

Ian will also advise customers how bisTrack’s Data Rules Manager can be maintained to escalate credit control procedures. This module automates what historically has been an extremely labour intensive process of phone calls, letters and dealing with legal bodies, etc. By maximising the capabilities of the software, this task can be made so much slicker and, once again, tighten up a company’s credit risk and/or exposure.

Ian continues, “In the world of finance now, FDs and MDs are extremely keen to spot trends and normally have specific KPIs that they are desperate to monitor. But, without the pertinent toolset, it is nigh on impossible to obtain and present these scenarios with the confidence that they are actually reliable!
