10:10 offers an achievable way of contributing towards a planet-sized problem
Merchant software provider, Progressive Solutions, has joined the fast growing group of UK companies who have signed up to the 10:10 initiative.
"Ethical behaviour and responsible sourcing of materials is nothing new in the timber and building materials industries" explains Progressive's managing director, Arthur Duffy. "And when you are involved in these sectors as closely as we are, our customers have a right to expect us to have the same high ethical standards."
The 10:10 campaign was launched earlier this year by the team behind 'The Age of Stupid', a film which warns about the ravages of global warming.
The campaign objective is to unite every sector of British society behind one simple idea — that by working together we can achieve a 10% cut in the UK's carbon emissions in 2010.
Companies have to commit to getting as close to the 10% target as possible and to encourage customers, staff and suppliers to sign up too.
Arthur Duffy, Progressive Solutions' managing director: "10:10 has offered us an achievable way of contributing towards a planet-sized problem."
Mr Duffy continues: "We're also proud to say that our bisTrack software is doing its bit for the campaign and making it easier for our customers who are also working towards their 10:10 target.
"Modules such as Journey Planner are helping them cut down on fuel emissions, there are features to help manage and demonstrate timber traceability, and our Scan Track module for document scanning and archiving is delivering savings on stationery and reducing carbon footprints at the same time."
