bisTrack and e-Xact make benefits 1+1>2

Technicians from Progressive Solutions and e-Xact recently put their heads together to come up with some new and exciting ways to integrate product data from e-Xact with the information in a bisTrack user's system.

The brief they were given, was that the solutions had to provide much bigger benefits than the sum of their components (1 + 1 > 2). So, imagine 3 scenarios:

• What if updates to product information on e-Xact could be automatically applied to a user's bisTrack system?
• What if sales of special product lines could be automatically sourced, coded, costed and analysed through reference to an e-Xact catalogue?
• What if bisTrack users (and customers) could view product images and technical information from e-Xact side-by-side with their own product information?

What if the scenarios above could all be delivered with a minimal amount of effort from bisTrack users?

"A prototype of the solution was demonstrated to a group of users at a bisTrack Open Day in Runcorn on 9th December 2009. Feedback from users indicated that the interface between bisTrack and e-Xact will provide their companies with huge benefits."

Specific areas of business benefits were identified as: margin improvement through better sourcing and rebate earnings, improved customer service, reduced maintenance effort, greater productivity and error reductions.

Progressive Solutions also demonstrated their internet trading management software "Web Track". Product information from e-Xact (particularly images and other rich content) can be used to provide a web services data feed for online trading web sites based on Web Track. This allows companies to get online quickly by eliminating much of the need to gather and more importantly, maintain customised website content.

The integration services will be further developed to add additional features and benefits.
